2 Timothy 4:12
“There have been 8 people killed in Kotido by the natives…”
“Our tire fell off the car while it was moving… No one was hurt, we will be on our way soon.”
“Megan, there are a couple of us severely sick in the car… we are starting intercession now.”
My heart pumped harder and harder as I prayed in the back of the vehicle. We had been planning this trip to Karamoja for months and the day had finally come. Twenty-five youth from 3 different locations had boarded taxis and were on the way to the primitive land of Kotido. As we arrived at the guest house in which we would reside for the next 3 days, we were met by many encouraging smiles. Many welcomed us and the fears which ate at my heart subsided.
“Gods got this…”
My mom’s words from years past echoed in my mind. As I looked back, I saw the truth behind that statement. God really did have us in the palm of His hand.
As we woke up each morning for a time of worship and prayer, I could see His listening ear.
As we walked to the villages and road to others, I could see His hand of protection and His grace in leading us in word, thought and deed. I could see His Holy Spirits work in the ones whom we shared the gospel with and their strong desire to know more.
As we met for our conference, I could see the Lord speaking on behalf of those who shared. As we sat down for meals, I could see the love and unity that only God could bring amongst our team.
God was with us way before we arrived here.
On the second day of evangelism, we broke off into our 7 groups and found our way to our different villages. These villages were far enough to drive to. As we arrived in the village of NaPumPum, we were greeted by much excitement and praise; they had been waiting for us. It reminded me of missionary movies that I used to watch as a child with my parents. People dancing and singing in their language welcoming us into their land. This was a moment in which I never thought I would see with my own eyes. 50 people gathered to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our Pastor from Northern Uganda was able to share and at the end, 5 individuals came to give their lives to Christ. Praise God!
From there we separated into our groups and spread out into the land. Each home we went to, each heart that we spoke to, I believe God had His hand on each one of us. We were called for a purpose, and this was our purpose.
As we went door-to-door for those three days many people gave their lives to Christ and others who didn’t receive, I believe the seed was planted. On Sunday evening, we concluded our mission by sharing the gospel with the entire Karamoja, Northeastern region through the local radio program. Many asked for prayers of peace in the land and for God to do a revival. Would you also pray with them?
- Would you pray that God would bring a revival into the land of Karamoja?
- Would you pray that God would bring strong men and women to serve and lead in the areas of the Northeastern region?
- Would you pray that God would take hold of the hearts of those who gave their lives to Christ and would they grow and learn and become strong individuals for His sake? Thank you all so much. May God continue blessing you.

So great to see the enthusiasm and hear the people singing. May God open the hearts of these people and the children to receive the gift of salvation.
